The government of Canada has suspended the fundamental rights of its citizens and overridden their Charter Rights and Freedoms. Prime Minister Justin Trudeau has attacked the foundation of Canada’s democracy to the point where citizens’ bank accounts can now be frozen and seized if they contributed to the Trucker’s Freedom Convoy.
Yesterday, Trudeau’s Justice Minister David Lametti threatened on CTV News that “if you are a member of a pro-Trump movement who’s donating hundreds of thousands of dollars, or millions of dollars to this kind of thing, you ought to be worried” about your bank account being frozen.
On February 14, Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau invoked the Emergencies Act to empower law enforcement the means to stop the Freedom Convoy protesters in Ottawa and around various border crossings across Canada. The embattled leader faced harsh criticism from leaders worldwide for invoking unprecedented emergency measures.
